It's both a blessing and a curse that I get bored very easily. Making the same thing day in and day out is just not for me! I like to play in my studio with materials and colors, designs, shapes and embellishments. I love to tackle challenges and I make a LOT of new work.
One day I am working on an embroidered painting and the next day I am collaging fabric for cuff bracelets, belts or necklaces.
There are threads and themes that run through my work. It's all very colorful and it all incorporates fiber - either fabric or embroidery thread. My intent is that it brings joy to my customers in their home or when they wear it.
Here is the good part about it:
- It's exciting and fulfilling.
- It stretches me creatively.
- I love every minute in my studio!
- There is always something new.
So, what's the problem?
Well, here is the downside:
- I'm always buying new materials.
- There is not enough room in my studio for everything!
- It's challenging to market.
- I don't have a cohesive body of work for stores and galleries.
So - why am I sharing this now?
Well I'd really like to get some feedback from my customers and supporters about what you'd like to continue seeing more of and what I should just let go of.
Or, do you love it all and want to encourage that?
To the right is a sampling of some of my favorite things that I've made recently just to give you an idea of the breadth of work I have.
And here is a link to a VERY short survey (only 4 questions!) Frisky Furnishings Survey. It would greatly help me if you could take the time to give me some feedback. Comments below are also welcome !!
THANKS for taking the time to be here and read this.
